LT Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club are the new Bangladesh league challengers

Dhaka, Jul 25:  Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club got the nod from the Bangladesh Football Federation to play in the country's most prestigious competition, the Bangladesh league, for the 2010-11 season. The club has been chosen from total five applicants including the third editions two relegated clubs in a meeting of the Bangladesh league committee Saturday night.

Uttar Baridhara Club, Bangladesh Boys Club and last edition’s relegated clubs, Shuktara Jubo Shangshad and Beanibazar Sporting Club had also appealed. The relegated clubs’ applications have been turned down according to Bangladesh League bylaws and Dhanmondi Club got the approval as they fulfilled most of the criterions to participate in the professional league.

Twelve clubs will fight this season, which will start in second week of October.

The committee has declared the first window for player's transfer will be held from September 1 to 20 while the foreign players’ bourse will continue till October 15.

The committee has also decided that all the professional league clubs must appoint a B-licensed coach instead of C-licensed henceforth.
